Abstract Meillers is a vast open-air site, dated to early in the Wurm glaciation, established on top of a Permian chert source. Chert was extracted by prehistoric man and flaked on the site. The prevailing lithic reduction sequence is Discoi'dal, principally unifacial and, to a lesser degree, bifacial. The different types of blanks are not much retouched. The most frequent types of tools are notches and denticulates, then scrapers. Meillers can be interpreted as a site specialised in the production of blanks which are unretouched and, in some cases, exported.
