Perturbations of a close satellite by the equatorial ellipticity of the earth

Abstract

. If the earth is triaxial, there will he a semi-diurnal motion of the node of a close satellite. The authors find an amplitude of 6 " for the motion, as seen from the surface of the earth, assuming Jeffreys' value of the coefficient of p22 cos 2 .
