Adaptation of Mesenteric Collecting Lymphatic Pump Function Following Acute Alcohol Intoxication

Abstract

Alcohol intoxication enhances intrinsic pumping by mesenteric collecting lymphatics. Alcohol directly decreases lymphatic myogenic tone, but effects on phasic contractions occur by an unidentified mechanism.
