A novel graphitized porous carbon nanosphere material obtained by a simultaneous activation and graphitization route, which was realized by heating resorcinol–formaldehyde resin nanospheres immersed with ZnCl<sub>2</sub>and FeCl<sub>3</sub>in an inert atmosphere, has been reported.
