Shine a light: Our search for an efficient and stable photocatalyst under visible light led to the synthesis of a composite semiconductor H2WO4⋅H2O/AgCl, in which AgCl particles are formed on the surface of H2WO4⋅H2O particles (see figure). H2WO4⋅H2O/AgCl absorbs strongly in the visible region, and is an efficient and stable photocatalyst under visible light.
