Absolute rate constants for the reaction of O(3P) with ethylene, propylene, and propylene-d6 were determined over the temperature range 258–861 K using a laser photolysis-chemiluminescence technique. The following empirical expressions are the best fits to the data: kethylene=2.12×10−13T−63e−1370/RT, kpropylene=3.40×10−19T2.56e1130/RT, and kpropylene−d6=3.40×10−19 T2.53 e1210/RT cm3 molecule−1 s−1. A simple transition state theory model is shown to provide a reasonable explanation for non-Arrhenius temperature behavior.
