Evidence that the existence of crystalline Fe(OH) 3 has not been demonstrated by Abe 1) is presented and doubts cast on the existence of β-FeOOH are dispelled. The green rust observed by Yoshioka 9) is shown to be identical with that found by Keller 6) and outline structures are suggested for these compounds.
