Abstract

The magnesium-rich side of t he m agnesi um-zi rconium cons titution diagram ha s been st udIed for t he purpose of improving t he previo us work on t his subject. A d iao-ram has b een de,:elop ~d t hat is similar in fo rm to t ha t found b y previous in vest iga to rs, bu t t h e p h ase boundanes dIffer a s to temperat ures and allo y compositions. The peritectic r ea ction was f ou n d to take place at 654 0 C, beginnin g at 0.58 per cen t of zirco nium.
