Low-dose CT for patients with clinically suspected acute appendicitis: optimal strength of sinogram affirmed iterative reconstruction for image quality and diagnostic performance

Abstract

Although measured noise declined as SAFIRE strength increased, S3 seems optimal for the best subjective image quality on LDCT 30mAs. The diagnostic performance of LDCT 30mAs with any strength is comparable to that of LDCT 100mAs for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.
