Physical‐contact‐type fan‐out device for multicore fibre

Abstract

Demonstrated is a fan‐out device using small diameter fibres for 7‐core singlemode multicore fibre, which realises a compact size with ferrules and a split sleeve, and also achieves physical contact connection with an average connection loss of 0.17 dB and a return loss exceeding 49 dB.
