Abstract RbSb 3 S 5 · H 2 O has been prepared and its structure determined. The compound crystallizes triclinic, P1̄ with a = 1053.6(5) pm, b = 893.8(5) pm, c = 599.0(5) pm, α = 87.09(5)°, β = 100.33(5)° and γ = 102.39(5)°. SbS 4 -ψ-trigonal bipyramids and SbS 3 -ψ-tetrahedra are connected together to sheets separated by Rb-ions and water molecules.
