Abstract The stereochemistry of coordination polymers derived from Cu(n), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), and Zn(II) with bis(salicylaldehyde-5,5′-sulfone) and 1,8-diaminonaphthaline, is investigated. The polychelates are studied in terms of electrical, magnetic, spectral, and thermal properties. The mode of coordination in all compounds is in part determined by IR spectra. The polymeric ligand may act as a quadridentate.
