Factors affecting epithelial hyperplasia after photorefractive keratectomy

Abstract

The factors associated with an increase in epithelial thickness were small ablation zones, greater attempted corrections, and deeper ablations. Larger, smoother ablation profiles may result in less epithelial hyperplasia.
