He is author of Self-knowledge in Plato's “Phaedrus” and Adam Smith and the Virtues of Enlightenment, and editor of Platonic Writings/Platonic Readings. He has also written numerous articles on ancient philosophy, the history of ethics and of political philosophy, and the Scottish Enlightenment.
