Enhancement: Part I. Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Results for Air Flow Through Passages with Spirally-Shaped Roughness

An extensive experimental investigation of heat transfer and pressure drop for air flow through twenty-three enhanced passages and a smooth passage was made. For each flow passage, the tests covered laminar, transitional and turbulent flow, and the pressure drop data were obtained with and without heat transfer. The Reynolds number was varied between 500 and 60,000. The results are presented and discussed in this paper.
