The independent 1:1 reactions of Et3Ga and (Me3SiCH2)3In with Sb(SiMe3)3 yield the simple Lewis acid−base adducts Et3Ga·Sb(SiMe3)3 (1) and (Me3SiCH2)3In·Sb(SiMe3)3 (2), respectively. Reaction of (Me3CCH2)2GaCl or (Me3SiCH2)2InCl with Sb(SiMe3)3 in a 1:1 mole ratio affords the dehalosilylation products [(Me3CCH2)2GaSb(SiMe3)2]x (3) and [(Me3SiCH2)2InSb(SiMe3)2]2 (4), respectively. These new compounds were characterized by multinuclear solution NMR (1H and 13C), partial elemental analysis, and, for 1, 2, and 4, single crystal X-ray analysis.
