Abstract

The aerobic metabolic activity of spermatozoa was compared in isotonic phosphate and saline diluents at 37, 21, and 5 C. Fructolysis decreased more at 37 to 21 C. than it did at 21 to 5 C.; whereas, oxygen consumption dropped more rapidly at lower temperatures. Marked differences between nine per cent sodium chloride and phosphate diluents at 37 C. were not observed at either 21 or 5 C. Editor.
