Sustained reductions in I(Kr) may lead to compensatory upregulation of I(Ks) through posttranscriptional upregulation of underlying subunits, likely mediated (at least partly) by microRNA changes. These results suggest that feedback control of ion channel expression may influence repolarization reserve.
