The surgical treatment of cancer of the floor of the mouth

Abstract

N an earlier report on which one of us I worked,a a surgical treatment method for carcinoma of the floor of the mouth was described. The results of the treatment, as described in that report, were largely based upon short postoperative periods of observation. At that time it was concluded that the operation resuIted in control of the local disease for a limited period of time but a longer period of observation would be necessary to determine the true value of the procedure. The purpose of the present report is to give the results of this form of treatment in patients followed for 3 years or longer.
