Douching in relation to bacterial vaginosis, lactobacilli, and facultative bacteria in the vagina

Abstract

Douching for symptoms or hygiene, particularly frequent or recent douching, was associated with bacterial vaginosis and bacterial vaginosis-associated vaginal microflora, but not with gonococcal or chlamydial cervicitis.
