A Novel Interpenetrating Diamondoid Network from Self-Assembly of <i>N,N′</i>-Di(4-pyridyl)adipoamide and Copper Sulfate: An Unusual 12-Fold, [6 + 6] Mode

Abstract

The polymeric complex [CuSO 4 ( L )(H 2 O) 2 ] ∞, 1, which was prepared by the reaction of a flexible ligand N,N ′-di(4-pyridyl)adipoamide), L, and copper sulfate forms a 12-fold diamondoid network showing an unusual [6 + 6] mode of interpenetration. The L ligands in 1 adopt the AAA trans and GAG trans conformations which also differ in the dihedral angle between the two pyridyl rings.
