The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of polycrystalline and single crystalline ${\mathrm{La}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{x}{\mathrm{MnO}}_{3}\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}(0.16\ensuremath{\leqslant}x\ensuremath{\leqslant}0.19)$ is investigated. A structural transition in close proximity to the magnetic transition has little influence on the MCE in this compound.
