5,6,11,12,17,18‐Hexadehydro‐1,4,7,10,13,16‐hexaethynyltribenzo[<i>a,e,i</i>,]cyclododecene: Synthesis and CpCo‐Catalyzed Cycloisomerization to the First Superdelocalized Oligophenylenes

Abstract

The largest submit of the carbon allotrope “graphyne”, title compound 1, is also a potential precursor to circular [6]phenylene, antikekulene. Single and double CpCo-catalyzed cycloisomerization provided the respective angular [3]- and [5]phenylenes. Their spectroscopic data indicate that they harbor superdelocalization.
