ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to present a rapid, inexpensive, and reliable method for the economic evaluation of CO2 miscible flooding. The method consists of a reservoir model for the prediction of oil, water, and CO2 rates, combined with an economic model for the calculation of discounted cash flow and other profitability indices. The model is validated against field floods, laboratory data, and numerical simulation. Model predictions of the sensitivity of profitability to some reservoir properties and operating variables are presented.
