Abstract

Two novel b i s f l a v a n o l s , mahuannln A and B, exhibiting t h e hypotensive activity have been i s o l a t e d from t h e crude drug "maa-kon", t h e r o o t s of Ephedra p l a n t s .The s t e r e o s t r u c t u r e s of mahuannin A and B, advanced on t h e b a s i s of chemical and physlcal evidence, have been e l u c i d a t e d as those represented by formulas I and 11.
