Polyaryleneimides of <i>meso</i>‐ and <i>dl</i>‐ 1,2,3,4‐butanetetracarboxylic acid dianhydrides

Abstract

Abstract High molecular weight polyarylene amic acids have been prepared by reacting aromatic diamines with equimolar amounts of either meso ‐or dl ‐1,2,3,4‐butanetetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (TCBA) in organic polar solvents. Heat converted these soluble precursors to insoluble polyimides having good high‐temperature physical properties.
