Convenient One-Pot Synthesis of Sulfonyl Chlorides from Thiols Using Sulfuryl Chloride and Metal Nitrate

Abstract

Abstract Various sulfonyl chlorides were obtained in excellent yields by the reaction of alkyl and aryl thiols with sulfuryl chloride in the presence of metal nitrate under mild condition in aprotic solvents such as acetonitrile and N,N-dimethylformamide.
