Blue Freeways: Traveling the Alternate Route with Big-City Teacher Trainees

Abstract

Through the presentation of selected first person case reports with analytic commentary, Shulman describes some of the problems and dilemmas of three new urban teachers who entered the oc cupation via an alternate route. She highlights the ways in which they were either helped or harmed by the interven tion of their mentor teachers.
