The Theoretical Basis of Paul Ehrlich's Chemotherapy

Abstract

In spite of all that has been written about Paul Ehrlich (1854–1915), especially with respect to his work in chemotherapy, an understanding of his ideas and contributions is far from satisfactory. 1 My aim in this paper is to analyze in detail one important aspect of Ehrlich’s thought, the theoretical basis of his chemotherapy.
