Discusses modes of occurrence, properties, and methods of identifying ulvoespinel, which is intimately associated with magnetite in samples of titaniferous iron ores from numerous localities. Ulvoespinel, composed essentially of Fe 2 TiO 4 , is strongly magnetic, and its presence in ores can materially reduce the amount of titanium recovered by magnetic methods of separating magnetite and ilmenite.
