Cross sections have been measured for the production of H- ions by collisions between electrons and H3+ at energies between 2 and 13 eV. The cross section reaches a maximum value of 1.6*10-18 cm2 at 8 eV. This implies that the reaction is unlikely to contribute significantly to the formation of H- in ion sources.
