An unintentional islanding may result in personnel and equipment safety hazards. In order to detect the islanding, an anti-islanding method for the photovoltaic power generation and active filter (PV-AF) system was proposed by the authors. However, when multiple PV systems are connected to the same distribution line, the detection of islanding is more difficult than the single PV system is connected. In this paper, the performance of anti-islanding method for PV-AF system is analyzed when two general PV systems and one PV-AF system are connected to the same power distribution grid. Sandia frequency shift (SFS) method and slip mode frequency drift (SMS) method were adopted for the general PV systems. The proposed system could detect the islanding under multiple PV system connections. The effectiveness of anti-islanding method for PV-AF system is demonstrated through PSCAD/EMTDC based simulation of a model power system.
