The WAKE4D is a \3-D space + time wake vortex (WV) prediction platform software developed at UCL. It allows to handle complete igh t scenarios in 3-D space, and with given met conditions. It simulates the transport and decay of the WV generated by an aircraft evolving along a given igh t path and under those met conditions. It uses many \computational gates to discretize the igh t path, and, in each gate, it uses either the Deterministic wake Vortex Model (DVM) or the Probabilistic wake Vortex Model (PVM), depending on application. The DVM constitutes the core of the WAKE4D. The models used in the DVM are here briey presented together with their assessment and use in the past. The PVM is also presented. It enables a statistical analysis of the WV behavior using the DVM as a subtool in a Monte-Carlo approach. The WAKE4D platform software (or any of its subcomponent model software, DVM and PVM) can be used for o-line studies or can be part of real-time operational systems. Some examples of use of the WAKE4D are presented: simulation of a detailed approach to Marseille airport with 3-D WV reconstruction, simulation in support to a time-based separation concept on approach to a generic airport, simulation of take-o with potential WV encounter analysis on a parallel arrival runway, 3-D velocity eld evaluation using the WAKE4D results: case of a take-o, thus with phases of WV in ground eect, and case of a igh t at high altitude taking into account the Crow instability development.
