Electric-monopole antenna using a dielectric ring resonator

Abstract

A dielectric ring resonator antenna structure which radiates like an electric monopole is reported. The use of high εr resonator material leads to small antenna height. Experiments show that the proposed antenna configuration is potentially useful for constructing small and compact 'electric-monopole' antennas.
