Abstract : A convenient laboratory preparation of tetrafluoroethylene was developed. Polytetrafluoroethylene was heated in a quartz flask at 600-650 degrees C under vaccuum. Tetrafluoroethylene was generated rapidly and was trapped with liquid nitrogen. (Author)
