Abstract

The viscosities of solutions of benzyltriethylammonium chloride have been measured in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) + water mixtures at various temperatures (298, 303, 308, 313, and 318 K). The results have been analyzed using the Jones−Dole equation, and the viscosity B coefficients have been calculated. The density data have been analyzed using Masson's equation. The partial molar volume at infinite dilution and the slopes of Masson's equation at different compositions of DMSO have been interpreted in terms of solute−solvent and solute−solute interactions, respectively.
