ABSTRACT This article summarizes the proceedings of four round-table discussions, which were sponsored by the National Center on Elder Abuse, and held in conjunction with a conference on financial crime and abuse. The discussions focused on four components of the legal system: local law enforcement, federal investigative and regulatory agencies, the civil justice system, and victim witness assistance programs. Participants were asked to describe their role in preventing financial crime and the challenges they face in doing so.
