Abstract

A partial diallel of five wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars was evaluated for inheritance of resistance to soil‐borne mosaic virus. ‘Payne’ was a susceptible parent; whereas ‘Arthur 71’, ‘Homestead’, ‘Newton’, and ‘Tascosa‘ were resistant parents. Resistance was dominant and inherited monogenically. Arthur 71, Homestead and Tascosa have the same gene for resistance, while Newton contains a different gene for resistance.
