Our continuing studies on biologically active compounds from pathogenic microorganism1 2) showed that Nocardia brasiliensis IFM 0466 produces a new antifungal brasilinolide group antibiotic3~5), brasilinolide B (1), distinguishable from brasilinolide A3~5) by its chromatographic properties. This paper describes the fermentation, isolation and structural elucidation of this macrolide (1).
