Using the methods of Reiss et al. in the evaluation of the radial distribution function for a hard-sphere fluid, an equation of state can be derived for a fluid of hard bodies of any convex geometry. The equation of state is derived for CCl4, and the compressibility factor plotted versus the reduced volume. Expressions for the expansivity, isothermal compressibility, and enthalpy of vaporization are derived. Preliminary calculations show numerical improvement for β and ΔHvap. Reiss' expansivity has an incorrect temperature coefficient; this dependence is correct in the convex-body representation.
