In the past few years hydrophobic zeolites have found a place in the industrial adsorbents market. Compared to active carbon adsorbents, they offer several advantages. A disadvantage, however, is that their adsorption capacity for most organic components is much less in comparison with active carbon. The only method used for the regeneration or desorption of these zeolites is temperature swing desorption realized by using hot gases. No experience has been available to date concerning the possibility of desorption by using steam. The object of the present experimental investigation was to study the possibility of such a process.
