This paper summarizes the main principles of the application of epoxy resins for the consolidation of porous inorganic materials. The most Important requirements for the attainment of sufficiently deep penetration are the low molecular weight of resin and hardener, a suitable type and amount of solvent, an effective impregnation method and the prevention of reverse migration.
