Abstract

Strong labeling of secretory granules in dorsal esophageal glands of preparasitic second-stage juveniles and adult females of Meloidogyne incognita by affinity-purified monoclonal antibody 6D 4 was observed by indirect immunofluorescence microscopy. This antibody also reacted weakly with secretory granules in the subventral esophageal glands of preparasitic juveniles. Postembeding immunogold labeling of ultrathin sections of juvenile esophageal regions revealed that the antigen was segregated around an electron-transparent core in the maxtix of secretory granules in the subventral glands (...)
