By the neutron diffraction method the structural changes in the ternary system (As0.4S0.6)100−xCux for x = 0.0, 0.75, 1.5 are investigated. A preservation of the atomic ccordination numbers and a space orientation of the layers is observed, when the Cu content is increased. By the X-ray diffraction a crystal phase formation for x = 1.5 is observed and it is identified with the luzonite composition Cu3AsS4. An explanation of the electrical conductivity change with the Cu content increase is proposed, supported by EPR measurements of the paramagnetic centres concentration.
