ABSTRACT EPIC-WT is a modified version of the Erosion Productivity Impact Calculator (EPIC). It is capable of determining the relationship between soil erosion and soil productivity, simulating the daily watertable fluctuations, and predicting the effect of subsurface drainage systems on the water budget components for shallow watertable soils. Validation of the performance of EPIC-WT in simulating surface and subsurface drained flows, daily watertable fluctuations, sediment loss, and crop yield was conducted over seven years (1981-1987) on a clay loam soil near Baton Rouge, LA. Satisfactory results were obtained. KEYWORDS. Drainage, Erosion, Modeling, Soil productiv-ity, Watertable.
