Abstract Cyclopropabenzene, 1,1‐difluorocyclopropabenzene and their 2,5‐diphenyl analogues were studied by mass spectrometry. With the help of deuterium labelling, complete hydrogen scrambling was shown to occur before the loss of a hydrogen atom from the molecular ions.
