S ummary Typhlodromus thripsi n.sp., of which a description is given, is a predacious mite feeding on Thrips tabaci Lind. It appears to be one of the few natural enemies of this insect. There are five stages in the life cycle of the mite; these are: egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph and adult. The mites first appear in June and are found on the plants until December, by which time the thrips have disappeared for the season.
