NATURALLY OCCURRING FATS and oils M have been demonstrated by animal experimentation to be carcinogenic compounds. One of the most commonly used natural oils in biological preparations is sesame oil. This substance, derived from the East Indian herb Sesamurn indicum, is employed chiefly as a vehicle for such medications as penicillin and hormones when slow body absorption is desirable. The present report deals with two patients in whom fibrosarcomas developed in the soft tissues of the buttock at the site of injections of a penicillin and sesame-oil preparation.
