Abstract

A group of zinc/nickel oxide cells were evaluated under a variety of test conditions, primarily to determine the effect of decreased potassium hydroxide concentration on cell performance. Although testing a 10 weight percent (w/o) concentration clearly mitigated the shape change of the zinc electrode, the low temperature properties of the electrolyte were not as favorable at 10 w/o compared to the higher electrolyte concentrations.
