It is shown that SU(3) symmetry together with final-state interactions goes a long way toward understanding all the decay modes of the kind (${D}^{+}$, ${D}^{0}$, ${D}_{s}^{+}$)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}PP. The data are consistent with a small SU(3) breaking. Several predictions of the branching ratios into different decay modes are made.
